#LG OLED TV POWER ON TIME HOW TO#
That’s how to get rid of the worst of the noise and static. This strikes me as very odd for a TV that’s supposed to be smart with built in streaming, but what can I say. Super annoyingly, this pop up will still come back up every time you turn on the TV. To get rid of that, navigate back to the Gallery Mode option on the home screen and click on it. You will however be left with an annoying pop up that reminds you there’s no cable. For some reason this should now have nixed the cable TV default and it will boot up instead in Gallery Mode. When you get to this point don’t make any choices, just shut the TV off and turn it back on. Then choose All Settings>General> Channels>Channel Tuning>Manual Tuning>Cable DTV. Go to Settings on the TV or press the setting button on the remote. It took me forever to finally figure this out and it’s a bit of a process so follow along here. I thought this would simply be a matter of switching the input so the TV would boot up to an unused HDMI input, but that didn’t work either. The default choice for this TV appears to be to turn on and select the cable input, and since I don’t have cable, I have nothing to connect to it. If I had a do over, I would get a competitor's tv that runs google's OS and avoid all this hair pulling nonsense. It is a shame the TV that cost many hundreds of dollars requires a $30 fire tv stick to be operational. I've resorted to getting a $20 fireTV stick to solve my issues with this TV. Also, the webOS is so slow when you load the home screen at first, adding 5-10 seconds every time. I am an IT professional for a living too, so its not just some sort of user error. I am convinced that it is just poorly written code on the TV. LG even had the motherboard replaced and the issue still happens. The last tidbit is make sure you hit that guide button and pick a channel if you have picked any other input (like PlayStation, etc). After that when you hit the guide button, it should show a list of all the LG Channels (same as the Pluto app).

Then I spent 2 hours with LG trying to diagnose to no avail. This prevents static as it now defaults to their skin over the Pluto app.

I reset the TV, updated the tv, apps, ect. I use streaming services for cable, like YoutubeTV, and the app will often just close with no error message at all, and switch to HDMI 1. The TV is however unfortunately unusable often times via webOS. Overall Review: The picture quality of this OLED is great, but perhaps not as good as some competitor products in the OLED space now but for gaming and HDR its hard to beat. Too many "AI" Feature that make things worse When changing anything in settings menu, it opens the last open app. YoutubeTV & Youtube Apps Close and force tv to switch source randomly TV, Magic Remote, Battery, Power Cable, E-Manual, Quick Start GuideĪdditional Information Date First Available Gaming: G-SYNC Compatible, FreeSync, VRR, ALLMĭimensions & Weight Dimensions With Stand (W x H x D)
